AIMS & OBJECTIVES

This course aims to provide students with the skills needed to communicate in English in various music-related professions, as well as to support them with the specific language requirements of studying music in an academic programme. It will introduce students to the key reading, writing, listening and speaking skills specific to communicating about music, with a particular focus on improving students’ ability to produce clear and accurate written and spoken English. This course will focus on language related to renaissance, baroque and classical era music.

Interpret reading texts and audio/audio-visual files on themes related to the topics covered in the course;

Comprehend and accurately produce a range of vocabulary necessary to communicate about key musical periods.
